coding again

This weekend I had some time to code, so I implemented the invite dialog and finished the display of emoticons on the input field. Some modifications were made on the code to allow extensions on other toolkits too.
Dx made some small gui tweaks and worked on p2p, so we may have p2p working on some time.

With the invite dialog the conversation window is almost done, the only thing left is custom emoticon and display picture that depends on p2p.

a screenshot of the gui with the invite window:

Suggestion: (I know, you're full of suggestions and have few time to code, but I'll try ;) ) Invite friends by Drag n Drop from the contact list to the conversation window.
As always, great job!

I tried it and it looks so nice but if you look for a contact using the searcher, the offline contacts appear as well. I think only the online contacts should appear.

Bye.

@Anonymous: I think, instead, that searching should show offline contacts, too. This is great if you are searching for someone who is showed offline, but you know is just Invisible.
If someone is online, 99% of the times you can simply individuate it and click (it would be even easier with display pictures ;) )

maybe a checkbox "show offline contacts" could make everyone happy :)

I hope that mesinyer/emsene2 will in the future have the same option as emesene1 small icons (even on the conversation UI)
but so far i can just say keep going

Hey! I really looking forward to testing emesene2 ... one of the things i miss the most in emesene1 is the possibiliti to chat with a person who appears to be offline, which is difficult at the moment...

HOla!! !-)

hello! Your msn appliction is great! Well, I have a question (in english for respect to the not-spanish speakers =D):
I can only upload GIF format images like my own avatar, and I cannot see my friends avatars. So, is because they are using JPG format pictures and the application only support GIF avatar?
Can you, guys, fix that?

Thanks a lot ^^

I second BoySka's suggestion for drag and drop invitation.

For an advanced pc user it is still hard to talk to your msn contacts on ubuntu. I have installed it and Kopete and Pidgin are horrible. They are for every protocol and are not easy to use or setup. Not use to them. And they don't load contact lists. Everything needs to be re-added and they don't connect.

The thing your program is the only program out of all of them that looks like msn messenger and works! Please email Ubuntu and explain to them why it should be in their distro.

Msn messenger users use emesene, plain and simple. Otherwise we would be using any of the other programs.

Sorry, I update emesene2 and now I can't logging, emesene can't draws the gui:

File "emesene2/extension.py", line 140, in get_category
return _categories[category_name]
KeyError: 'gtk window frame'

I have installed pygtk-2.12.1

Mariano y DX no se si han leido algo de lo que esta en el siguiente link pero creo que es buena idea aprender de las experiencias de otros mensajeros para linux.

les dejo el siguiente link

@Anonymous: you have to delete the configuration file located in ~/.config/emesene2/youraccount/config

thanks Mariano, it's ok!

Using Emesene with Ubuntu, and it would seem that for all my contacts whose avatars are jpg, their avatars wont display.

I also noticed other people were having other issues with jpg's, and Mhytos seemed to have the same issue as me.

ps. sweet program!
Cheers
