msn has been shutdown

As title says, the msn messenger servers have been stopped (except for China), so emesene msn backend will stop working soon (or already had!)

https://www.google.com/search?q=msn+shutdown

That being said, emesene still can be useful since it can support multiple backends (such as XMPP, currently implemented through SimpleXMPP).

Even if development has been dormant for a while, the code is still there if you want to play with it (desktop Whatsapp? Facebook Chat?).

Have fun,

Riccardo (c10ud)

I think that msn shutdowning could be a great chance for emesene to improve other protocols and backends which are a bit disregarded right now (for istance XMPP/gtalk and its integration with log recorded on gmail).
Less msn, more emesene! ;-)

This makes me sad, dude. emesene will always have a place in my box-shaped heart. Thanks for everything.

I do not understand emsene no longer officially developed?
Improving chat gtalk and facebook would be great, maybe even implement video calls. Also add Whatsapp would be a nice idea! I do not know if you can also add the Skype chat, but this application can give anchors a lot of satisfaction to users, especially if better integrated with Gnome, KDE, Unity, etc..

Well... i think that you can do some for this change... the idea is easy: use the email service for create a new client that works of the same form of MSN But without the servers of msn (using only emails) all have a email account and no is need a microsoft email acount (gmail, yahoo, etc) whit a filter of the emails that of the contacts for show the friend´s email in a conversation...
well this is my idea, i dont english good and some parts of this must be wrong... if like i can explain more better on spanish...
