today i coded the support for sending your avatar and amazingly it worked
( tested on aMSN, gaim and kopete ), the code still needs some modifications but
its a good start.
about receiving others avatars it works now only with kopete and kmess, i need
to check that
this feature isnt fully integrated so you will have to wait some time..
for now here is a screenshot.

I have a problem when I did a svn update to try avatar, but can not write a bug report here because of HTML TAGS, but posted in the forum at https://sourceforge.net

that output is just debug information for us, it will be deleted when all works.
about the windows that opens, yes they are the other IM clients requesting your display picture and
then emesene think that they want to speak with you. this will be fixed shortly

The first i tryied is to put my own image there, and i tryied but got unsucessfull, then i closed the program and openned it again and then it sent the image to gaim.

when gaim ask for your picture is a mistery :), when i test it i have to wait some time for gaim to request my picture

tiene razon, la parte de la imagen es demasiado grande para la vantana, no seria lindo que se escale la imagen, y si el usuario quiere que se muestre grande aparte?
Tested on Windows Live Messenger, it can receive my avatar, but msn 7.0 can't...
You should say somewhere that if you want the tray icon you have to install the python-gnome2-extras'package (but if there's another way to have the trayicon... please don't use that since it's too much gnome-dependent!)
